Hello my lovelies. I hope you’re all enjoying a productive time. Things are pretty busy here at happy stitching manor. I have been working quietly behind the scenes on my latest creation. I must admit that I have absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of my creativity. I think this project is the best I have created so far. I can’t wait to share How Does Your Garden Grow. So, watch this space.
I’ve popped in today because I have once again been offered free passes to attend The Festival of Quilts this year. However, due to previous commitments, I will not be attending this time but the good organizers of the festival have set aside 5 pairs of day tickets for me to giveaway. The show runs from August 1st to the 4th. I think it’s going to be a great show. There’s always loads of beautiful quilts
to see and the wonderful Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company will be in attendance. I would love to attend one of her lectures. Jenny’s story of how she got involved in the patchwork scene is a very interesting and inspirational one.
As well as Jenny, there are oodles of super vendors selling things that you cannot live without!!! I always look at the tools and gadgets carefully. Attending The Festival of Quilts is always an adventure for me. Things change from one year to the next, including the roads! I always manage to get lost but that’s all part of the rich tapestry of life.
So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. If you live in the UK and you are planning on going to The Festival of Quilts enter my giveaway draw. ONE QUILTING STITCH AT A TIME 
Oooh! I would love to win a ticket to the show!! I love paper piecing as I don’t have to worry about cutting precise patches before I piecing! And it allows me to be quite creative without worrying too much about measurements, etc. But I also love applique and am enjoying machine quilting. I live in Cherhill, Wiltshire, UK. Hi Lucie, what a great giveaway! My favourite patchwork technique varies, strip piecing for speed, EPP for meditative sewing. I find actually quilting a top daunting though so it would be great to get some inspiration at Festival of quilts. I live in Derbyshire, just outside the Peak District,

Hi Helen, tha is for popping in today. You must really take on a small hand quilting project. If you like EPP hand quilting is every bit as relaxing once you get the hang of it. This is a wonderful giveaway! I enjoy Foundation Paper Piecing for precision and I am currently trying out some ruler work. I always feel inspired by your applique but not sure I have the patience. I’m not too far away from the FOQ as I live in the West Midlands

I like ‘simple’ basic patchwork. So many different patterns to try, but I’m still working on my accuracy! I also like the variety of including machine embroidered blocks into projects. I’m from Blackburn, Lancashire.

Hi Lucie, since you have taught me all I know about quilting I cannot decide which I enjoy the most. I have to admit I do like hand quilting, and hand quilting pieces together. I find it so therapeutic and can think about all sorts of other things,very good for my health and well being. I am going to do a stand at our hospital health and well being day about quilting ! I must say I also enjoy the creativeness of appliqué work. I would love to go to the festival of quilts and I live in Morpeth Northumberland x

Hi Lucie. My favourite technique is appliqued but I wish it was free motion quilting. Maybe one day I’ll have practiced enough to make a reasonable job of it!! I like drawing a freehand pattern and then trying to work out how to do it! Works sometimes, sometimes too complicated and the pieces are too intricate
