Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable day. You’ll be able to see by the shadows in my photos that we’ve had some lovely sunshine in my little corner of the northeast of England. Normally I would pull the blinds down but I was enjoying the sunshine so much that I thought I’d wouldn’t today.
I haven’t made much progress today because I was out for a good part of the day again. It’s either a feast or a famine. I’m usually a quiet person who doesn’t go out more than a couple of times a month but life seems to be picking up now. I must admit I have enjoyed my quiet working on my projects over the last few weeks.
First bit of progress, I finish my quilt as you go charity quilt last evening. It’s been labelled and bound and is ready to be handed over but I’m going to hang on to it for a while in order to present this new-to-me technique to my fellow Belles at our next meeting. Can you see the shadows the sunshine is creating???
And secondly, I started to prep a new block to work on this weekend. I only got as far as tracing the cereal cardboard and freezer paper templates. What would we do without cereal box cardboard???? It works well for me. In fact, all my friends save their empty cereal boxes for me.
I’m so glad it’s Friday. It’s my favourite day of the week. We’re still in Easter Holiday mode here. The children don’t go back to school for another week or so. I’m finding it hard to keep track of what day it is. It’s been an interesting no matter what day it was.

ONE QUILTING STITCH AT A TIME 
Good day to you, Lucie. The sun is out and will achieve 2 today, with..wait for it…mixed snow later. ??? Nice to see the sun on your quilt, look how bright the colors are…when I said a real quilt, I probably meant a comforter. Lofty, cosy. On the reverse side photo, the edging, is that stitched by hand? All the quilts are beautiful for their own reason. Like people. So, week ends, less demands, family time for you. Have a beautiful two days, come back Monday! ha ha Saw some hexagon wreath patterns, liked some, others, drop dead beautiful. Some with embroidery in the middle. Anyway, hugs to Maisie, luck to Sarah. Keep going girl!

Hi Joanna, it seems your winter is lasting even longer than ours. We’ve had quite a lot of snow this year. I guess it’s been making up for all the years when we’ve had no snow at all.
The edging on my quilts are sewn to the front of the quilt and wrapped around to the back and hand finished. You can do both by machine but I prefer to hand finish on the back.
I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend. It seems that the last couple of days have been a bit manic around here. I love the weekend because we don’t work according to the clock. I must admit that this past week has been a bit hit and miss because I’ve had a hard time keeping track of what day it is!!! I guess it must be an age thing.

Sorry to bother you, just reading about how you can do transfer images with the freezer paper, you could do reverse photos, I guess. Use old music sheets or old ads…old packages of seeds, those would be nice,yes? Especially with flower pattern fabric, or just mixed in with pure white cloth, embroidery…oops! My brain just keeps going.

Hi Joanna, I have heard of different transfer methods. I have only ever used the method using a printer. Have you ever tried any of these transfer methods? Let me know if you and how successful it was x

What a lovely quilts 🙂 and yes, I also use cardboard of cereal and any other packaging I can find for my templates

I use cereal cardboard too – why buy template plastic when the free carboard does the job!
